The story follows the lives of rugged individuals and families whose sacrifice becomes a tribute to love itself.  It begins with Denny and Della, who fall in love at a dance in a small town in rural Utah and end up running away to Las Vegas to be married.  They then embark on a life-long odyssey to build a family ranch. They do ultimately realize their dream of becoming ranchers, but along the way, they are inspired by strong and courageous women who came before them.
